“There’s no ‘right’ place to begin. We start exactly where you are, with no pressure to be anywhere else.”
Sometimes life feels like too much, too many roles to hold, too many changes to absorb, too many expectations to meet.
You might be feeling stuck, overwhelmed, low in confidence, or unsure of the next step. Or perhaps you’ve been carrying something quietly for a long time, and you’re ready for a space to finally let it breathe.
By finding your way here, you’ve already made a brave and caring choice, a choice to begin tending to your needs and relationships in a new way.
I’m Sandra, and I work with individuals, couples, families, and organisations who are ready to pause, make sense of their stories, and move towards change that feels both meaningful and sustainable.
Systemic and Family Psychotherapy with Sandra Martinović
Humanistic Counsellor | Systemic Leader & Organisational Consultant
My Ethos
“I offer a space where all parts of you are welcome, the certain, the uncertain, the hopeful, and the hurting. Here, you can lay down the masks you’ve had to wear and begin to reconnect with the parts of yourself that have been waiting to be seen.”
I believe healing begins when we feel seen and accepted just as we are. Therapy with me isn’t about fixing you, it’s about slowing down, listening deeply, and exploring what’s happening beneath the surface.
My approach brings together systemic and humanistic perspectives. This means we’ll look both inward and outward: at your inner world of emotions and experiences, and at the wider patterns of relationships, culture, and community that shape them.
Together, we’ll bring warmth, curiosity, and compassion to understanding your story, helping you find clarity, confidence, and new ways of relating to yourself and others.
What Brings People to Therapy
Below are some of the areas I often help clients explore. You might recognise yourself in one or more of these, or you might simply sense that something in your life needs space to be understood. Either way, you’re welcome here.
Relationship and Marital Difficulties
When communication breaks down or distance grows between partners, it can feel painful and confusing. Therapy offers space to slow down and explore what’s really happening beneath the surface. Together, we look at the patterns, emotions, and needs that shape the relationship, helping you to reconnect, rebuild trust, or find clarity about your next steps.
Family Conflict and Communication Challenges
Families are living systems, full of love, stories, and sometimes tension. Life transitions such as adolescence, separation, or blending families can disrupt communication and connection.
I provide a calm space where each person can be heard, helping families rediscover dialogue, empathy, and mutual understanding.
Anxiety, Low Mood, and Identity Struggles
Feeling anxious or low can leave you disconnected from yourself and your direction in life. Together, we’ll explore what these feelings might be signalling, not as symptoms to be silenced, but as messages pointing toward unmet needs, pressures, or transitions.
Through understanding and compassion, we’ll find ways to reconnect with steadiness, meaning, and self-trust.
Grief, Loss, and Life Transitions
Loss changes us. Whether through bereavement, separation, illness, or a shift in identity, grief can feel overwhelming and unpredictable.
Therapy offers a space to honour what has been lost, make sense of complex emotions, and begin to rebuild a life that holds both memory and new meaning.
Eating Disorders and Body Image Concerns
Our relationship with food and our body often reflects deeper stories about control, self-worth, and belonging. I support clients in exploring these experiences gently and safely, helping them reconnect with their bodies as sources of expression, resilience, and care rather than conflict.
Pregnancy, Perimenopause, and Midlife Changes
These seasons of change can stir deep emotions and questions about identity, relationships, and purpose. I work with women and families navigating fertility, pregnancy, perimenopause, and other transitions, supporting you to approach change with understanding, compassion, and a renewed sense of self.
Neurodiversity and Work-Related Challenges
Work can be both rewarding and demanding, particularly in systems that don’t always accommodate difference. I work with clients, including those who identify as neurodivergent, to explore identity, burnout, belonging, and balance.
Together, we find sustainable ways to work and live that honour your strengths, values, and individuality.
Therapy Beyond the Couch
“Therapy does not have to stay on the couch. Healing can happen in nature, art, music, and movement, in whatever ways you feel most alive.”
Before becoming a therapist, I worked as an opera singer and theatre director, so I understand the pressures of performance, creativity, and visibility. These experiences have shaped my belief that healing can be creative and expressive, not confined to words alone.
As a mother of two, I have an appreciation for the evolving nature of family life and relationships — the joys, challenges, and growing pains of each stage.
My multicultural background brings sensitivity to issues of identity, belonging, and cultural navigation, supporting clients who move between worlds or hold multiple cultural perspectives.
Qualifications and Professional Background
With experience across NHS, private, and charitable sectors, I bring both clinical depth and systemic perspective to my practice. I also work as a systemic leader and organisational consultant, helping teams and systems understand how relationships, communication, and emotion influence wellbeing and performance.

Working Together
Therapy is a shared process — one that unfolds at your pace and in your time. Some people come with clear goals, others simply with a sense that something isn’t right. Wherever you are, that’s where we begin.
Our first step is a free 15-minute introductory call, where we can talk about what’s bringing you to therapy and how we might work together. From there, we can arrange weekly sessions — either in person or online — tailored to your needs and preferences.
Together, we’ll work toward greater clarity, connection, and self-understanding — gently uncovering what’s been waiting to come to light.
“Healing begins when we find a way to express what lives inside, even if we don’t have the words yet.”
If you’re ready to begin, or even just curious about what that might look like, I’d love to hear from you.
Let’s start exactly where you are.
