I believe that by providing a safe, confidential and non-judgmental space in which to talk I empower clients to explore their feelings and thoughts. I try to understand the deep emotional narrative so that the client can gain a better understanding of themselves. I offer face to face counselling as well as remote counselling and I do both short term and long term therapy.
I am an integrative counsellor and I am a registered member of the British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapy.
My background is in law – I trained as a Barrister and worked in a solicitor’s office. I also worked at the BBC for twelve years making documentary films.

As an integrative counsellor I believe each client is unique and that no single modality suits all. This means that I work with psychodynamic principles, person-centred theory and cognitive behavioural therapy. I believe that our early relationships can have an impact on us and how we attach to others in later life. I also believe that given a safe supportive space we are able to fulfil our potential and we can start making decisions from a position of self-awareness. Research has shown that one of the most important things in therapy is the relationship between the therapist and the client. I believe that I offer a warm, sensitive, caring and thoughtful space for the client to find themselves. Having worked in the law and media industry for many years I have experience of dealing with a diverse range of people and issues. I recognise the stresses and pressures that can be part of working life.

Psychotherapy Qualifications, Training and Experience:
I completed the Diploma in Integrative counselling – the therapeutic pathway at City Lit. I am a member of the BACP and abide by their ethical framework. I regularly attend continuing professional development events and training. I carried out my clinical hours at CCIWBS bereavement service, Caris Islington and Waterloo Community Counselling.

Rates:
I work with individual adults and my rate is £70 per 50 minute session
