Therapeutic Counselling with Sean Taylor
As a qualified therapist, one of my roles is to support you through the process of exploring the origins of any unhealthy, learned behaviours and beliefs. Through this exploration, we will identify whose ‘truth’ you are living.
I will respectfully support you with the aim of listening to you so that I can understand what is going on for you and how these issues are affecting you. Together, we will reflect and make sense of any issues and how they may impact on your thoughts, feelings and beliefs.
I believe that when difficult experiences are left unchallenged or unresolved, the issues slowly begin to impact our confidence, relationships, work and our general sense of wellbeing, leaving us feeling unable to move forward.
Whatever the struggle may be, I will empathise by walking alongside you through your experience subjectively, allowing me to imagine your experiences through my own thoughts, feelings, as part of my own journey in understanding you.
I believe that all of us, given the right support, can learn effectively to self-manage our wellbeing – either by acknowledging our entitlement for peace or by gaining a better understanding of our own self-worth.
I’m here to offer you help and support through experiences that may be causing an uncomfortable emotional state.

Qualifications and Experience history:
I have 16 years of experience working in the public sector and several other social support roles. These have allowed me to gain the opportunity to engage with a diverse range of people of different age groups, gender, race, sexual preferences, and religious beliefs who required some level of support.
My Journey in the public sector eventually led me to study counselling skills in 2011.
Following this, I completed a degree in therapeutic counselling, and subsequently, in 2015, a diploma in REBT – Rational Emotive Behavioural Therapy at the College of Cognitive Therapy which is related to CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy).
Additionally, I qualified in Group Facilitation at The Gestalt Centre in 2015, which eventually led to my current work as a self-employed therapist and mediator.
Whilst studying to become a therapist, I gained the opportunity to work for several charities such as Mind, Barnet Carers, and Barnet Bereavement Service where I was counselling carers who cared for family members. I also gained experience as a therapist at St Joseph’s Hospice Bereavement Service, which was also bereavement focussed.
As well as working as a therapist I have experience of working with a law base mediator that specialises in community and family mediation.
