In the busy-ness of the modern world, psychotherapy offers the chance to bring about meaningful change in our lives. It is rare to have a confidential space – away from our lives, families, and work – to explore difficult feelings and experiences. Therapy gives permission for us to talk about whatever we need to. It can also allow reconnection to hope, humour and passion.
I offer therapy as a space to explore where you are at – what it is bringing you now and the change you are hoping for. I have experience of working with a diverse range of clients offering short- and long-term therapy.
Psychotherapy & Counselling with Neil Young UKCP
As an integrative psychotherapist I draw on a number of key theories. I believe that we human beings strive to be well and that the relationship between client and therapist can be a key source for change (relational and humanistic theory). Early relationships, particularly in the family, are significant because they influence our subsequent expectations for, and ways of being in, relationships with others (psychodynamic and attachment theory).
I am also trained in work with the arts (art, clay, movement, music, poetry, puppetry, sand tray as well as dreams and metaphor), so this can be part of our work together if this is of interest to you.
Areas I work with:
- Anger management & conflict
- Bereavement and grief
- Change & transitions
- Emotional, physical & sexual abuse
- Family conflict issues
- Gender and sexual diversity
- Relationship issues
- Self-esteem and self-confidence
- Stress and feeling overwhelmed
Psychotherapy Training, Qualifications & Experience:
I trained for five years at the Institute for Arts and Therapy in Education (IATE) – qualifications accredited by the University of East London:

- IATE (2017) Diploma in Integrative Arts Psychotherapy
- IATE (2015): Postgraduate Certificate in the Therapeutic Arts

I have regular supervision with a UKCP registered supervisor and am committed to ongoing professional development. I have also been in personal therapy for over ten years.
